Curry in a Hurry, New Generation Serving Tradition, is more than just a restaurant. It is the story of a father and daughter who turned challenges into an opportunity to share their passion for food and community in Minneapolis.
For me, Sajida Ahmed, the path here was not an easy one. Born hard of hearing and later surviving multiple brain surgeries in 2024, I faced years of health and academic struggles. Still, I pushed forward to earn my degrees in healthcare administration, all while supporting my family during tough times. I never expected to step into the restaurant world so soon, but life had other plans.
My father has always been a visionary in food. With decades of experience running restaurants across the Twin Cities, he built a reputation for bold flavors and warm hospitality. Even when times were tough, he never lost sight of his passion for cooking and his belief that food has the power to bring people together.
One day, he spotted a space for lease and knew instantly that this was the moment. At first, I wasn’t sure if I was ready to take such a big leap. But over time, I realized this was a chance not only to help carry on his legacy but also to create something meaningful together as a family.
Curry in a Hurry is the result of that leap of faith, blending his culinary vision with my drive to grow a family business. Every dish we serve is made with care, rooted in South Asian tradition but served with a new generation’s energy.
Today, our restaurant represents more than just food. It represents resilience, family, and community. When you walk through our doors, you’re not just tasting flavorful curries, you’re sharing in our journey.
Come taste our story today at Curry in a Hurry in Minneapolis.
